A mental health consultation is a private conversation with a doctor about how you have been feeling. EasyScripts offers online mental health consultations by phone or video, so you can talk from somewhere comfortable without travelling to a clinic or sitting in a waiting room.

The doctor assesses your symptoms, talks through your options and, where it is appropriate, recommends follow-up care. This service does not replace ongoing care with your regular GP, psychologist, psychiatrist or community mental health team.

A consultation suits everyday mental health concerns.
This service may not be suitable for severe or high-risk situations. If you are in immediate danger, see the urgent support section below.

How an Online Mental Health Consultation Works

The whole process runs online. It starts with a short form and ends with the doctor’s recommendation.
1
Complete the online form
Tell us how we can help. The form also asks about allergies, chronic conditions and anything else you want the doctor to know, and lets you choose a male or female doctor, or either.

2

Choose a time and pay
Pick an appointment time and pay online. The fee is shown before you confirm.

3

Speak with one of our doctors
The doctor talks with you by phone or video at your appointment time. Our doctors are AHPRA-registered Australian doctors, with the same professional obligations as a doctor you would see in person.

4

Receive the doctor’s recommendation
The doctor explains what they recommend. If they issue a referral, certificate or blood test request, it is sent to you by SMS or email. If you need an in-person examination or urgent care, they will tell you.

Appointments 7 days a week

Choose a time that suits you. Any referral or certificate the doctor issues is sent as early as the same day.

Your Privacy and Confidentiality

Talking about your mental health is personal. Here is how the consultation protects your privacy.

A Confidential Consultation

Your consultation is confidential and handled in line with Australian privacy requirements. You agree not to record it without the doctor's permission, and the doctor will not record it without appropriate consent.

Somewhere Private

Choose a private and safe place where you can speak openly. You can take your appointment from anywhere in Australia.

Secure Records

Your records are protected with encryption and shared only with authorised clinicians involved in your care.

No. You can request a consultation directly, and a doctor will review your case.
A consultation can cover symptoms of anxiety, low mood and depression, stress, sleep problems and difficulty adjusting to change. The doctor can also advise on self-care strategies and treatment options, and recommend follow-up care. This service may not be suitable for severe or high-risk situations.
The K-10 is a short, ten-question questionnaire about how you have felt over the past four weeks. It is widely used in Australia to measure general psychological distress, and the Australian Bureau of Statistics uses it in its health surveys. It helps the doctor understand how you have been feeling. It is not a diagnosis.
Many consultations are available on the same day, and some can take up to 2 days. It depends on doctor availability and your needs.
Mental health consultations start from $85. The fee is shown before you pay, with no hidden costs. This is a private service, so Medicare does not cover the fee.
